Altva Holdings LLC d/b/a Total Vet ("Total Vet," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit www.totalvet.org, request a house call, or communicate with us by phone, email, or SMS text message, and how we use and safeguard that information.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Contact information — your name, mailing address, email address, and mobile phone number when you book a visit, fill out a form, or reach out to us.
- Pet & medical information — your pet's name, species, breed, age, medical history, medications, and any information you share to help us provide care.
- Appointment & service details — the services you request, visit address, scheduling preferences, and notes you provide.
- Payment information — payments are processed by a PCI-compliant third-party processor. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
- Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data — when you opt in to text messages, we collect your mobile number and a record of your consent (date, source, and program). This category is treated separately and is governed by Section 4 below.
- Website usage data — basic analytics such as IP address, device type, browser, pages viewed, and referring URL, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
2. How we use information
- To schedule, deliver, and follow up on veterinary services for your pet.
- To send appointment confirmations, reminders, results, and billing notices.
- To respond to questions and provide customer support.
- To process payments and maintain accurate medical and business records.
- To improve our website, services, and patient experience.
- To comply with legal, regulatory, and veterinary licensing requirements.
3. How we share information
We share personal information only when necessary, and only with:
- Service providers who help us operate (for example, payment processors, scheduling software, secure cloud storage, our SMS messaging platform, and email delivery providers). These providers are bound by contracts that limit their use of your information to providing services to us.
- Referral partners such as specialty hospitals or laboratories, when needed for your pet's care and with your consent.
- Legal authorities, when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. SMS / text messaging & mobile information
Mobile information (mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in / consent data) will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of personal information collected exclude text-messaging opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Information sharing to subcontractors that support our SMS program — such as our SMS provider — is permitted only to the extent necessary to deliver the messages you requested. These subcontractors are prohibited from using your mobile information for their own marketing.
SMS program details
- Program name: Total Vet Appointment Updates.
- Program description: appointment confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, follow-ups, lab/result notifications, and billing notices.
- How you opt in: by submitting your number on our website or booking form, by giving verbal or written consent at the time of booking, or by texting a keyword to our number. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.
- Message frequency: recurring messages, frequency varies based on your appointments and care needs.
- Cost: Msg & data rates may apply.
- HELP: reply HELP at any time for assistance. Sample reply you will receive: "Total Vet: For help, email hello@totalvet.org or call (860) 321-8463. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Msg & data rates may apply."
- STOP: reply STOP at any time to opt out of future text messages. You will receive a one-time confirmation that you have been unsubscribed; no further messages will be sent unless you opt back in (reply START).
- Carriers: supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Boost, U.S. Cellular, MetroPCS, Cricket, and most other major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website and to understand how visitors use it. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some features of the site may not work as expected.
6. Data retention
We retain personal and medical information as long as needed to provide care, comply with legal obligations (including veterinary record-keeping requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
7. Your rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. We will respond consistent with applicable law. To make a request, contact us at hello@totalvet.org.
8. Children's privacy
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
